Welcome to the Scholland herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus Cattle.

History

The Leslie family have been farming at Scholland for several generations.  Sheep and cattle have always been the mainstays of the business.  Shetland x ewes are put to suffolk tups to produce store lambs.  A portion of the ewes lamb in January to produce new season lambs for local markets in June.

Angus x cattle are run commercially and calf in Spring to Charolais sires these calves are then marketed as advanced stores at 18 moths of age.  AI has been used to enhance the quality of both the calves and cows.

We started breeding pedigree Angus cattle in 2004 when we purchased two females from Netherton's 80th anniversary sale.

Aim

Our aim was and still is to grow our herd of good quality pedigree cattle both by purchasing select females and using top AI sires to breed our own stock.  This will allow us to market top quality females and bulls locally as well as at auction market.

We are members of Biobests health scheme Herdcare.
